Handsome golden, pearling carbonation, creamy head. Malty base, herbal hops, earthy notes. It tilts more towards a Helles than a typical bavarian pils. Good body.

Draught Very clear gold; snow-white head, collapsing and leaving lace. Very malty, pale malts, cookie malts, faraway grass. Very malty for a Pilsner, ends "feinherb" all the same - Joss calls it a Helles rather than a Pilsner. Hoppiness comes up in the palate, herbal. Dry MF, light bodied, reasonably refreshing. Good Pilsener or Helles, whatever. It is hoppy enough to distinguish it from the Vollbier.

Sampled draught at Brauerei-Gaststätte Hummel, Merkendorf.
Pale yellow, clear, firm head. Very dry, clean grassy and crisp. Very bitter finish. A spot on refreshing light pilsener.
