Freibier during the opening of the first 100 m of Sandstrasse in Bamberg. Clear golden color, short head. Aroma of skunky hops, bit grassy. Boring. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pils on 14 Aug 2019 at 13:56 - Score: 6. Original review text: 1,20 euro voor 2 flessen, helemaal gestoord

(bottle, from the brewery) Clear, pale golden colour with a fluffy white foam, slowly lacing. Light-sweet grainy aroma, herbal hoppy with citrus elements. Bittersweet flavour, light to medium body, crispy, almost lively carbonated mouthfeel. Balanced malty, grainy taste with aromatic hops; moderately dry and bitter hoppy finish, that lasts for a while. Well quaffable Pils.

Tap
Pale golden, pretty fluffy white head. Aromatic and herbal hop aroma. Light but chewy malt body, beautifully balanced to the herbal and aromatic hops - Klasse!

Test vom 25.10.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,9,9,9,12,9 - 8,95

Draught Golden, clear colour; good whipped-creamy head. Dry, herbal, malty with a touch of hops, and sesame-like finish for nose. Dry-herb pilsner, quite some hops, and in the taste, the malt surfaces after some time. Faraway, not-sour lactic touch. Good body for a Pilsner, hop in the aftertaste again. Now this is southern German Pilsner!

Bottle (from Vroni’s Bamberg): Straw golden colour, thin white foam; slightly grassy hoppiness in the aroma, also grainy fruitiness with traces of bread; starts malty, dry malty and also earthy flavour, ending soon in a short, bitter, malty aftertaste. Not a great pleasure, kind of "green", unripe.......

Bottled. Pale yellow, crystl aclear, brief head. Firm and really dry. Crisp with nice lingering bitterness. Balanced and refreshing.
