Mind Circus IPA has a mild bitterness and a thick, luscious mouthfeel. This style of IPA is what is being called in the beer world a “Hazy IPA” Dominantly herbaceous and grassy, with moderate tropical notes as well as some bright citrus. This unique hazy IPA gains its flavor of grapes and grass from the Nelson hops, and its tropical notes of pineapple and mango from the Strata hops. It is unfiltered leaving a “haze” and some yeast for more texture. Oats were also used to add to the softer mouthfeel and hazy appearance.

Pours a slightly hazy, banana-lemon yellow, with rather smallish head. Aroma is a touch astringent, with citrus and tropical fruit notes. Flavor follows. Moderate hop bitterness at the finish. The mouthfeel is a bit thin for the style.

510mL bottle, pours a cloudy milky yellow with a small white head. Nose has some hopburn, citrus hops, and some earthiness. Flavour is gently citrusy, with juicy citrus hops, some hopburn, light chalkiness, and earthiness. Too cloudy and murky, with the usual problematic hopburn. Not even Russian River can do this style well.

Bottle picked up at Elliott Bay Pizza. I believe Russian River hops are best enjoyed straight from the bottle, but I poured half of this to a glass just to see what a RR hazy even looks like. Golden yellow haze, soft glow, definitely not as dense as others within the style. Hazy with a decent amount of bitterness still intact. Stone fruit, and perfumy hop profile. Fragrant floral and tropical nose. Slick forward body, with a slight tingling bitterness to follow and linger. Some earthy notes. Far from a typical hazy that I'm used to, but these guys are far from typical. Unique and very enjoyable.

Pretty smooth with a decent citrus/tropical body. One of the best NEIPAs I’ve had on the West Coast.
