Göller Dunkel wurde erstmals 1978 zum Anlass der 650-Jahr-Feier der Stadt Zeil eingebraut und ausgeschenkt. Die Resonanz war überwältigend und das Bier wurde überregional schnell als das „Jahrhundertbier“ aus Zeil a. Main bekannt. Bei Meiningers International Craft Beer Award, European Beer Star und World Beer Awardwurde Göller Dunkel mehrfach ausgezeichnet.

Cask at Zum Franziskaner, Stockholm. Clear coppery brown, rich firm head. Toast, caramel and vegetable notes. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and toast, slight nutty notes. Mid bitter finish.

Аромат не сильный, но очень в стилью легкая карамелька, немного поджаренная, много солода, цвет полу темный, пенка неплозая, коричневая. Вкус питкий, очень в стиль. Есть мюнхенские нотки карамельные, снова легкая поджарка, бархатистость приятная на языке. В конце много солода, как ячменого так и карамельного. Почти идеал питкого темного лагера.

Deep brown with a light tan, three finger head. Aroma is toast and roasted grains. Taste is a malty with roasted grains and toast.

Easygoing, pleasantly roasted dark lager, with notes of caramel and cocoa against a mild fruitiness and gentle, slightly floral hops on the finish. Tasty.

Clear reddish brown colour, white foam. Nose of caramel, nuts, light roastiness. Sweet, malty and bready. Great Dunkles!

Bottle pour from Friar Tuck, Crestwood. Lightly hazy dark iced tea with light sparkle, nice head with fair retention and rings of lacing. Aroma is strong toasted malt, figs. Taste is strong toasted malt--a bit earthy/vegetal--fig, hint of toffee. Smooth, creamy texture, average carbonation and crisp finish with lightly yeasty, bitter finish. Low ratings gave me low expectations but some interesting features here.

Göller Dunkel, Flasche von Sagasser, Haßfurt. - Dunkles Kupferrotbraun, klar; sahniger Schaum. - In der Nase warmes brotig-dunkles Malz mit einem Hauch von säuerlichen Zügen (Brotteig) und nur unauffällige Hopfung. - Antrunk anfangs eher toast- als dunkelmalzig, erst allmählich kommt sehr dunkle Brotkruste auf, gefolgt von nicht zu knapper herbaler Hopfung. Leise röstmalzig, kaum süß; feine fruchtige Herbe. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang trocken malzbitter und dezent hopfenwürzig-herb mit leiser Orange. - Schönes, erfreulich wenig süßes Dunkles, das beim Wärmerwerden eine komplexe Malzigkeit entfaltet aber nur dezent gehopft bleibt. Zwar kein Jahrhundertbier aber sehr solide. (18.4.2023.)

Schwing top bockle. Mitchell’s Wines Sheffield. Clear deep amber brown. Thick beige suds stick around. Nose has light roast. Hedgerow fruit. Touch of caramel. Whiff of chocolate ice cream. Taste has a touch of sweetness with a fruity vinous edge. Decent body here with rolling carbonation. Dries out somewhat with a fruity bitterness to finish. Good gear.
