Bottle with swing top. Brown pour with a medium sized foamy head that has decent retention. The aroma is roasted malts and a bit of caramel. The taste had a mineral aspect that was the first thing I noticed followed by roasted grains and some toffee. The palate was thinner than I prefer and the carbonation soft. Overall: meh. Paired this with some aged gouda and the cheese overpowered the drink.

Bottle (swing-top) at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear copper-brown with a frothy tan head that settles into a cream. Medium sweet flavour with rich brown bread, nips of toffee, brown sugar, toasted malts, biscuits. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Sweet but balanced finish, more toasted brown bread, biscuity malts, nips of cocoa and burnt caramel. Very tasty beer.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Pours a deep chestnut brown colour with a large throthy off-white head. Aroma is lots of caramel and toffee and doughy bread. Taste has more caramel and toffee, brown bread, chocolate, a light roasty note and a little brown sugar. Medium body, low carbonation with a smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Slightly unusual Dunkel but pretty good.

Creamy off white head left a froth on a reddish brown still body. Malt, burnt & rye aroma. Medium bodied, creamy & smooth with a sharp cloying back. Malt, woody, burnt, cigarette & jam tastes with a tangy finish. Very tasty.

Brown with a creamy, off-white crown that lingers. Aroma of roasted grains, toffee, berries. Taste is dominated by the malts with a chocolate bittersweetness holding the upper hand until the finish, which has a mild, roasted grain bitterness. Medium bodied, mild carbonation. Tasty stuff. Goes well with peanuts.

Pour is a brown with a large tan head. Aroma is dark toasted caramel malt with a little metal. Flavor is toasted malt with some cocoa powder. Finish is gone quickly. It's your typical average dunkel, never going to get you excited but always drinkable.
