Slightly herbal aroma and flavor. rather thin. Lacks the fruitiness of most other belgian whites, just a hint of citrus and grapes. Somewhat below average witbier.

From old tasting notes. Hazy straw gold color. Massive creamy white head. Lots of tiny bubbles. Fragrant yeasty malt aroma. Interesting light effervescent malt flavor, reminiscent of Alka-Seltzer. Light hop progression shows up in middle. Unique flavor components make for an interesting brew. Subtle and refreshing. Nice lacing.

This was a popular witbier from 1989 up to its abolishment in 2008 and was a joint venture between Palm and Moortgat (hence the name, referring to Steenhuffel and Breendonk, the respective villages where the breweries are situated); it had a snow white, dense, moussy head and pale yellow blond colour with greenish hue, hazy; soft and fluffy palate, wheaty with coriander and some citrus peel but above all a sweetish, aromatic cinnamon presence, making it different from the stereotypical Hoegaarden standard. Now both breweries have their own witbiers, integrated in respectively the Steenbrugge and the Vedett brand, but neither has the same cinnamon character this one had. Too bad it has gone lost, this wasn’t bad for the style at all.

Spicy, refreshing, very easy to drink. Offers a bit more depth of flavour compared to some other white beers.

Draught, small lasting head, hazy lemon colour, strong carbonation, aroma of vanila with some light cinamon notes. Flavour dominated by lemony sourness and is quite dry, later some fruity sweetness appears which makes the beer more balanced. the sweet and sour continues into the aftertaste which is long and pleasant. Middle of the road belgian wheat which is a little dumb.
