Borbecker Helles Dampfbier ist eine fast vergessene Spezialität aus der guten alten Zeit, die jetzt wieder fröhliche „Urständ" feiert. Untergärig gebraut nach einem sorgsam gehüteten Rezept der Stern-Brauerei Essen, findet dieses spritzige Qualitätsbier immer mehr Freunde unter den traditionellen Bierkennern und -genießern.

Bottle. Courtesy KimJohansen. Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Soap and citrus dominating. Light bitter flavor. Short light bitter finish. Watery palate.

Bottled (from Bierzwerg.de). Yellowish golden colour with small white head. Leaves some lace. Aroma is some bready malts as well as quite doughlike with some mild diacetylic notes as well. Flavour is bready malts, some slight maizelike notes as well as mild dough and some slight saltwatery notes. Yet quite bodied as for the palate.

Bottle 50cl.Clear light to medium yellow color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, light bread, swedish crispbread. Flavor is moderate sweet and grainy with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081122]

Bottled@OPP (BB 04/2009). Clear golden color, small white head. Grassy, papery, a bit sweet nose. Papery malty, light grassy hoppyness. Dry, a bit metallic aftertaste.

50 cl bottle from a REWE in Bochum, GeErmany. On December 30, 2008. BB 090709. Clear golden color, small white head. Sweet malty scent. Acidic, grainy taste. Medium to moussy mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Clear golden with medium white head. Sweet and somewhat malty aroma with hints of caramel. Dry flavour with malty caramel notes. Finsihed dry and somewhat bitter.

Bottle, 4.8%. Weak chalky aroma. Pale golden colour, stable white head. The flavour is nicely citric and slightly fruity with a little hay and malt. Dries out a little towards the end giving room for a little bitterness.

Bottle. Golden, low carbonation, thin froth. Fruity, somewhat wooden malt nose, minerallic hops. Fat malt, yet thin on the palate, light sparkly mouthfeel. Dry herbal and sodalike finish, metallic retronasal.
