Season's greetings from a hop rocket of holiday happiness. Exploding with juiciness, this hazy Imperial IPA combines citrus notes with a soft piney finish. It’s like a tropical vacation in the middle of winter

Draught @ George Keeley, Manhattan NYC (Dec 2024). Extremely hazy dark yellow/orange, like peach juice, small frothy off-white head, orange mango aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter unripe mango-orange peel taste, alcohol undertones, thin body, long orangey finish. Strong and tasty.

16 ounce can. Hazy yellow gold color. Great lacing. Pillowy white head. Subtle tropical fruit aroma. Flavor is sweet and juicy. Obvious alcohol burn upfront. Tastes like a high octane tropical fruit drink at a resort bar. Resiny pine finish.

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy yellow golden pour, skin of white head, lacing. Fruity aroma, mostly citrus, notes of stone fruit. Taste follows with juicy, fruity flavors, deep, thick feel. So lush, so deep. Latent warmth. Ever Grain is probably my favorite brewery in Pennsylvania.

Look, this beer isn't very good. 16oz can pours a neon orange with some sudsy white head. Nose is very sweet, malty, boozy, dehydrated melon, cheap peach candy, some plastic. Flavor is very saccharine, peach candy, melon, booze, herbs, perfume. Full bodied, sweet and boozy. Messy. Overdone.

Super hazy golden and straw yellow coloured body with a fairly large, two to three centimetre tall off-white and tan head that fades slowly above the 90 per cent opaque raw honey body. Aroma of citrus fruit, resin, melons, grass pine and a good level of both malts and lactose noticeable, in the nose at least. Full-bodied; Rich sweet juicy quality at first with oranges and grapefruit here and a solid malt punch right behind with a lot of bitterness from the alpha acids and slight grainy notes show, with a bit of alcohol warmth noticeable throughout, but especially after the initial sweetness from the lactose and citrus fruit fades. Aftertaste shows the pretty nice balance across the flavours with a lot of sweetness of course, but nothing cloying and still a nice layer of bitterness from the resin, pine and alpha acids here, with some warmth from all the alcohol and a slightly less pungent alcohol note (perhaps around 9 per cent alcohol it seems), but of course - still pungent. Overall, a great REAL Imperial IPA that has a nice balance, good complexity and pretty nice range for the style. Try it if you can find it and as a Christmas lover, this was great to have from Christmas in New York. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Carmine Street Beers in New York (Greenwich Village), New York on 04-December-2021 for US$7,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-January-2022.

Pic from yesterday. Beer is boozy, sweet, certainly a #GFU beer. Rocket fuel.

16 oz can from Tavour, 1/19/20. Pours a murky brighter orange, thin white head. Bright, tropical, juicy. Papaya, pineapple, grapefruit. Some pine later on. On the full bodied side, but doesn't show the 10.5% much at all. Dangerous and delicious stuff. 8/4/9/4/16
