Bottle. Rough hop aroma. Greyish chestnut colour. Stable, semi-creamy head. Roasted flavour, also a little rough. Aftertaste is hop aromatic.

Bottle: Amber to brown coloured; thin and lasting white head; sweetish malty nose, fruity vinous traces and a tinge of roasted malts; quite dry (roast)malty taste, hints of milk-chocolate; light bitter, but mainly malty finish; quite light bodied, lacks a fuller body; to be really good a bit too thin; a not unpleasant Dunkel, though.........

(Bottle 50 cl) Comes as "Engel Alt Crailsheimer Dunkel". Beautiful dark brown - but not black - beer with a limited head. Soft, slightly caramelish and lightly sweet. Very subdued bitterness. Has some almost altbierish fruity notes. Delicious. 030201

Roasted fruity malt and a somewhat dusty hop nose -indeed reminds one of a bottled bitter or something similar. Chestnut, low lacing creamy head. Light toasted malt with a herbal hop counterpoint. Dry finish - roasted almond aftertaste. Medium body, a tad fizzy.

An amber beer with a fine white head. The aroma is very sligth - what is there is malty sweet. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted bread and a hop dry end.

Clear brown-amber, greenish shine; slim, diffuse off-white head. Caramel & a bit gassy - gRassy too. eeehh! Surprise, surprise. Couldn’t be more different from the other Engel Dunkels as possible. Blind, I’d say a very good keg British B.B. Quite delicate-hoppy, again a bit grassy. Rather light bodied. It is a bit watery, but the aftertaste yields more bitterness. As said, not at all German in character, and not any the worse for it.
