Bottle found in my cellar in 2017, most likely picked up from my latest Belgian trip, or maybe from some webshop. ABV is 8.5 % on the bottle. Rubyish amber colour leaning a bit towards brown too, small off-white head, which still leaves some slight lace. Aroma is sweet malts, spices, mild alcohol, some raisins and mild toffee. Flavour is sweet malts, some herbs, raisins, mild spiciness and some mild alcohol sweetness too.

Dusty honeyaroma. Honey flavor with plum, orange and some fruity sourness. Orange brown color, no head. Prickly mouthfeel. The beer looks rather ugly, but the flavor is OK. The used honey fits with this beer and doesn't annoy.

Old bottle @Bir&Fud Bottega (Rome). Ambrata/bruna, schiuma avorio leggera. Al naso note di caramello, frutta candida, sciroppo d'acero, spezie. In bocca è dolce, delicatamente speziata, monotona. Corpo medio, carbonazione medio-leggera. Ha retto abbastanza bene, ma risulta alquanto anonima.

Four year old sample. A bronze coloured honey beer with very thick, beige head and sweetish taste with hints of caramel and coffee, dry hoppy finish with warming alcohol. Made for a committee which tries to keep the memory of the Boerenkrijg alive, hence the name. Not bad.

Dark amber, moderate beige head that diminishes to nothing. Caramel-sweet aroma. Prunes and toffee. Taste is smilar, but well balanced with bitterness

Nice beer with a tasty base of herbs and speculaas. Good that they didn’t overdo the sweetness.

Bottled 330ml (BB 02/2013, alc. 8.5%)
Courtesy of bierkoning. Dark brown color, steady beige head. Starts slightly sour, later not so much, caramelly, spicey aroma with light coffee. Medium-bodied. Sweetish, toffeish, raisins, malty and some alcohol. Nice strong dessert beer, quite Belgian.
