16 oz can. Aroma has orange, grapefruit, melon. Flavor is a copy with some mild floral bitterness. Undated can with the four pack sticker long gone. Not bad in anyway but the malt profile is starting to get sweet. I can’t find Nelson in this.

Can (9/25/23) pour from The Beer Store, Salem. Cloudy dark orange-yellow, nice sparkle, thin head with fair retention and nice rings of lacing. Aroma is strong sweet candied Concord grape with background tropical and citrus fruit. Taste is strong sweet candied Concord grape with late guava. Smooth, thick, with soft carbonation and finish as taste with slightest deep alcohol warmth. Getting more Nelson than would expect from description. A bit sweet and overpowering but still good.

Roxbury draught, 6/30/23. Moderately hazy, deep maize-bronze. Small, white head. Nose is heavy clementine/tangerine/papaya and sweet, white bread-like malt. Very low acidity. Soft, round, very juicy, fruity, very sweet though and somewhat dull/sluggish as a result of super-low bittering. The mosaic isn't offensive, but it's rather lackluster on the Nelson/Rakau, producing low minerality, no sulfur, low spiciness. Maybe too old?

Can, from the brewery. Pours extremely hazy rich yellow with foamy light beige head, citrus peel aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter unripe mango-citrus peel taste, apricot flavor, thin body, long citrus-peel finish. Balanced and flavorful.
