Hand-pulled pint in ’The Smugglers’ on Cleethorpes Sea Front (10 Oct 2012). Another beer I have on a regular basis that somehow hasn’t seen me write about it. Amber body: good, deep and creamy textured white head on top. The taste and nose were fruity and malty, slightly different to the bottled version, certainly more of a caramel feel to the whole thing. Nice easy blend: mine was getting towards the end of the barrel and almost on the turn, but I know it can be a lot better than the pint I had, so my scores are higher than the pint should really get.

In tap at Four Marys in Linlithgow. Pours dark amber to brown with a proportionate head. The nose has resin and some bitterness but not a pleasant aromatic bitterness. The taste is more if the same. The palate is medium bodied and textured but unfortunately the bitterness in the end is like astringent dry malt. Overall, not a fan.
