Welcome to a special imperial edition of the beer that started it all for Firestone Walker: DBA. We brewed this batch at double strength, then aged it for a year in 11-year-old Old Fitzgerald wheated bourbon barrels, which enhanced DBA's classic flavors of toffee and caramel with notes of baking spice, cocoa powder and dried fig. The result is Double DBA Batch 10k - a commemorative release that marks the 10,000th batch of beer brewed at our Paso Robles, California brewery.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown, with a fair, fine, beige head. The aroma is caramel, cloves, vanilla, anise, and heavy oak. Sweet and sugary and boozy, with a mellow, backing bitterness. Heavy, syrupy, and a bit slick. Nice barrel character and malts, but a bit hot.

Pours a deep ruby brown body, with a few small particles, and a frothy beige head with a few patches retention. Aroma's: fruity, boozy, caramel/fudge, fruit candy. Retronasal it's sweetish, oak, vanilla, boozy, (red) fruity. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light woody bitter. Alcohol is quite warming but not too sharp. Medium bodied. 12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark amber mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is full of bourbon, toasted caramel, bready malt, and some vanillin. Flavour is rich, with lots of butterscotch, plenty of bourbon barrels, some vanillin, and bready toffee. Lots of bourbon, butterscotch and bready toffee that mixes well. Excellent.
