Double Alien Church

Tired Hands Brewing Company in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, United States 🇺🇸

IPA - Imperial New England / Hazy Regular
Score
7.43
ABV: 9.0% IBU: - Ticks: 16
Brewed to be a massive double version of our psycho pan-dimensional Reptoid IPA, Alien Church. Composed with fluffy oats and hopped with plenty of Cascade & Columbus. Dry hopped super aggressively with Citra, Mosaic, and Chinook from our latest selections in Yakima, Washington. -Notes of resinous herb, sticky drippy mango slices, double the recommended dose of blueberry CBD dummies, sugar coated ruby red grapefruit halves, and fruit cocktail made from a melange of musky & very slightly overripe tropical fruits.

Aromas are resin, damp wood and a bit floral. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose. More bitter than sweet with okay carbonation. Add in some spoiled food. Just drinkable. Correction: undrinkable and drain pour.

Panda thanks to Cloin. A mild to medium haze on this orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, a mild dryness, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, a thin creamy sweetness but, pleasant. Cooling pine into Chinook boxy and slightly bitter citrus, brighter Cascade underneath. Touch of citric peel and a whisper of something tropical before the light finish. Modest bitter linger. Slightly old school dipa, but it's nice to have something like this now and again.

Pint can, BB ? canned 07/15/2024.

Can from Kihoskh, drunk at home (07/11/2024) - Intense fruity aroma and taste with big juicy hits of mango and papaya, tangerine and honeydew melon, nice piney herbal hoppy notes, hop spice, sweetish malty support, assertive hoppy finish. Great stuff.

Canned 7/15/24, drunk 9/1/24. Heavily hazy, deep bronze. Off-white, dense head, good retention. Sweaty PNW hops with spicy Mosaic and a strong helping of honey and biscuit from malt. Light pine, light stone fruit. A bit woody. Dense. Rich, malty, fairly sweet. Bitterness is light-to-moderate and there's warming dryness alongside stone fruits, wood and pine. At first I thought it might be too malty but I think it's actually nicely balanced. Certainly rich, dense, burly, but obviously that's the intention here.

Resiny and dank as heck. Delicious finish of a truck load of juicy hops.
