For this year’s iteration we’ve used our classic Belgian/German Pils malt blend, with a light dose of Cara50 malt, then hopped with El Dorado, Citra, Chinook and a touch of Simcoe. Bitter, resinous, piney, candied peach, familiar.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Caps and Taps. Pours clear honey-gold with a foamy, white head. Lightly sweet, notes of sun-kissed pale malts, slightly faded pine, orange rind, peach. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly resinous to finish, some dry pale malts, more citrus rind, nips of grass and biscuits. Not bad.

440ml can. Slightly hazy amber, big white head. Aroma of pine, resin, caramel. Taste of piney and resinous hops, grapefruit, lots of caramel malt sweetness countering the hoppy bitterness. Medium bodied. This is well balanced, I actually expected the hops to be a lot punchier, such a nice flavour profile though.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy pale golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of blood orange and Lockets. Flavour of lemon and pine. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Bold and bitter - a decent example of the style. A touch more malt sweetness would improve it I think.
