pours dark brown to maghoni brown, settles guinness near black wit h a smooth small brown head. aroma is quite solid and dominated by tonka beans, but also chocolate, roasted malts, brown sugar, vanilla.
flavor is tonka beans, roasted malts, coffee, a bit of smoked malts or hard roasted malts, cheap dark chocolate, bitter coffee in the end. palate is a bit thin, but fitting for a 4.3%er, A lot of flavor, perhaps a little bit too much from other stuff than roasted malts. As lowish alc stouts go, this is a fine one, easy drinking and quite tasty, certanly more character than a guinness, but also comes off as a tiny bit thinner.

440ml can. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, tonka and light chocolate. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, herbal, earthy, light dry coffee, tonka, light chocolate, liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. The promised marshmallow and vanilla were completely absent. There was very little sweetness in this beer. After reading some of the other reviews I can only conclude that there are some consistency issues.

440ml can as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Dark drown, some translucency near the bottom of the glass, with a big khaki/tan head. Light aroma of chocolate and possibly sweet spice - not getting the s’mores connection here so much - overlain with a gentle tonka aroma. A little bit metallic as well.tasteis sweet without that tonka umami character I was hoping for. Some mild hop bitterness on the back end. Light body with low carbonation. Have to be honest that I wasn’t mad about this one.

Keg @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Black with a thin off-white head. Smooth and crisp tasting at an easy drinking strength, its coconut initially was the dominant of its stated ingredients, with chocolate soon becoming prevalent in both aroma and taste.
