95,000 bottles were produced for 2004’s Vintage, which once again employed a traditional approach, this time brewed with Goldings hops and Maris Otter malt. Distinctive cherry notes are evident, before a warming finish that mellows with age. Also limited availability in the Cask, mainly in the London area.

Bottle to celebrate the first month of the new job. Dull pour and not much life in the glass. The taste was loads of vanilla and that was it. Nothing else. And it really wasn't great.

bottle at The Beer Bistro in December 2006. This has mellowed quite a bit. the boozy harshness is all but gone. nice malt aroma, and a nice english hoppiness to it. flavour is malty, and caramel, with a bit of spiciness. Palate is sooooooo smooth, like velvet. This has aged very nicely.

Dark amber color, small but lasting head. Fairly complex aroma: hezalnuts, hops. Full bodied, buttery and oily. Warming alcohol. A firm hopbitter flavor, walnuts. Just a touch of wood. I can’t taste any fruit. There is some sharpness that will probably ease down over the years. Oaky bitter afteratste. Good quality beer that needs some cellaring.

50cl bottle pours with a clear mahogany colored body that supports a one dimensional ring of off white bubbles. The mild aroma offers up fruit cake, grape jam, echoes of muted molasses and a just noticeable oxidation. The taste delivers smooth molasses and prune notes leading to a kind of boysenberry and grape jam like juiciness. A mild sensation of old wet cardboard bubbles to the surface midway and into the finish. Nice sipper with the faintest booziness heading into the after taste. Fun experience. Bought this at Ledgers liquors in Berkeley in '06.

500mL bottle, pours a dark amber with a small beige head. Nose is quite oxidized, with bready malt and a touch of caramel. Flavour is less oxidized than I thought it would be, with bready malt, toasted caramel and a hint of toffee. Oxidized, but not too detractingly so - can still get the toffee and bready malt here.
