Bottle: A bit unclear, chestnut-amber coloured, rather quickly vanishing smaller off-white foam, distinctive fruity-hoppy nose with veritable hoppy traces; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, nearly medium bodied and quite soft; moderate fruity and bitter-sweet finish. Not really strong, but quite nice...

(bottle) Slightly unclear, amber colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Toasty malty aroma with notes of bread, caramel, molasses and a slightly vinous fruity touch. Sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Juicy malty and slightly toasted taste with notes of liquorice and chocolate, backed a little bit by fruity and spicy hops; sweet and mildly toast-malty and fruity finish. I like it. 15.V.12

Gravity cask at The Bree Louise, London. Pours ruby-gold with no head. Ripe fruits, sugar and toasty bread on the nose. Pretty nice flavor, doughy and sugary malts, subtle ripe fruits, faint leafy bitterness. Medium bodied with soft, almost no carbonation. Sticky sweet finish, mild toffee, doughy bread, some toasty sugars. So so.

Originally rated May 2007. Comes in the usual flask-shaped glass bottle that St-Peter’s brews come in. Pours a clean light copper colour with limited carbonation. The head is nice and creamy, a slight off-white, hangs a while and leaves great rings of lace. The nose is interesting with some fruit, some grain, some caramel and some nuts. The mouthfeel is quite smooth. The taste as well is smooth, until the aftertaste, and then, some bitterness starts coming out of its hole. And it stays a little while. Very nice hops I must say. Not as weird as other beers I have had from this brewery. I like the balance of this brew, and would have it again.

500ml bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury. Clear red amber, thick cream coloured head. Lovely fruity malty hoppy premium bitter aroma, just what you would want from this type of beer. Just as good in the mouth, perhaps a bit juicier on the malts with a very good hop balanced finish. Really rather likeable and tasty. I’d happily drink this again .
