Back for its third year, this Scottish Cherry Kriek is the ultimate expression of summer - regardless of the weather outside your window.

It’s no exaggeration to say that Scottish Cherry Kriek is one of the most popular beers we’ve brewed. If you missed yours in previous years (they are very limited), now’s your chance to try it. We’ve brought this small-batch release back. And we can’t wait for you to try it. Using fresh cherries – handpicked a cherry’s throw away from our brewery – this limited release celebrates local Scottish produce. Very local. Twenty minutes down the road, actually.

We have matured this cherry beer in oak casks for three months resulting in a beer that is accented with a delicious balance of ripe cherry sweetness, hints of oak, and a refreshing tart finish.

Buttery, toffee notes, hints of cherry, with some light vanilla, and barrell. No hops, medium body, light carb. Semi sweet finish, nothing special.

330ml bottle. Very nice, opalescent, ruby colour with average, firm, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity and slightly tangy aroma, notes of morello, whiffs of black pepper, weak woody overtones. Taste is sweet-ish fruity, slightly tart-ish fruit acidic and minimally citric, hints of cherry, cherry juice; minimally dry, woody finish. Watery texture, minimally dry and astringent palate, fine, dense, creamy, mildly prickly carbonation. Quite simple, minimally artificial - nothing spectacular.

This Kriek poured a deep red colour with a soapy, minimal, white coloured head. Minimal lacing. Scents include wine, ripe fruit, red cherry and cardboard. First swig was not as bad as expected. Mild on the mouth with flavours of cherry pie filling, ripe fruit and whiskey. Finish is mildly sweet with flavours of boozey cherries lingering.

Bottle 33 cl. Vintage 2023. Pours a clear, pretty red with a quickly dissipating pinkish head. Slightly tart and funky cherry aroma, very enticing. Medium body, slightly sweet cherry otes and then a very pleasant oakiness that suit the cherries well. Surprisingly interesting - especially considering the manufacturer. 221123
