We used massive amounts of robusta coffee beans – known for their full-bodied and distinctive earthy flavour – in our very bourbon-forward imperial stout base which had spent 14 months in oak. The result is smooth and staightforward yet refined and complex.

0.33l bottle thanks to Lore. Black body with a brown head. Aroma of caramel, cocoa, chocolate, coffee, nutmeg and vanilla. The vanilla character is much stronger in the taste than in the aroma. It also has notes of coffee, chocolate, nutmeg and some caramel. Nice smooth sweet stout.

8-4-8-4-15 On tap @ Lucky, Bergen. Pours black, with a tiny head. Aroma is roasted malts with syrupy bread and notes of campfire, as well as herbal notes and bourbon barrels. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with syrupy bread, burned sugar, ice coffee and leather, as well as herbal notes of camphor and wooden barrels.

Draught, taster @MBCC 2023, Copenhagen (Denmark). 06/05/2023. [#6.471 Global - #74 Norway - #32 Lervig Aktiebryggeri] Pours dark brown with a lacing tan head. Aroma: coffee beans, orange and wood barrels. Taste: earthy coffee beans, bourbon and caramel syrup. Warming boozy finish. Oily and sticky mouthfeel. Next one please!

Solid powerful evening sipper. Or on a bus for a Mötley Crüe Complete black stuff and more or less no head Solid intensity in the aroma Quite sweet. But fair enough for a beer like this Coffee, chocolate, dark malt, oak and thank god not to much bourbon in the flavor [Bottle – donated by ChrisOfstad]
