21/8/2024. Cask at the 45th Peterborough Beer Festival. Pours clear amber bronze with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, caramac, malt, orange, sour fruits. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with light sourness. Moderate body, oily watery, soft carbonation. Not keen on this one from the brewery either.

Cask at Standing Order, Derby. Pours “bitter brown” with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet with malts to the fore plus hints of Nuts and autumn fruits. Pretty much the same to start with in the mouth, with mushy apple flavour and traces of orange and floral hops. Later it becomes slightly bitter with toffee and hints of caramel leading to a slightly dry finish. This is a decent old school bitter.
