Orange color, cloudy, almost no head. Citric aroma with vanilla. Good lacing. Flavor has a yeasty bitterness and a herbal hoppiness. Some orange. Rather alcoholic, light to medium bodied. Lacks the finisse of a good tripel, but nevertheless drinkable.

330 ml bottle into chalice, no bottle dating(060589 on the back?). Pours cloudy orange amber color with a small frothy 1 finger off white head with ok retention, that reduces to a a ring of lace. Light spotty lacing clings to the glass; minimal carbonation streaming up. Aromas of pear, apple, peach, honey, candi sugar, bread, caramel, pepper, herbal, earth, and yeast spiciness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity; a touch too sweet but they work well. Taste of pear, apple, honey, peach, candi sugar, biscuit, herbal, nuttiness, earth, and light toast. Lingering notes of light fruit, biscuit, honey, candi sugar, caramel, earth, and light herbal on the finish for a good bit. Nice flavor balance and complexity; not cloyingly sweet at all surprisingly. Minimal carbonation and medium bodied; with a fairly slick and creamy mouthfeel that is ok. Drinks surprisingly smooth with barely any carbonation. Alcohol is very well hidden with pretty much zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a quite nice Tripel despite very low carbonation. Very balanced with good complexity; and very smooth to sip on. Likely old, but I am sure a fresh bottle would turn out to be a great brew; provided it was well carbonated.

Cloudy gold beer. Pretty flat. A notably sweet start followed by a malty fruit mid with a mildy bitter fruit finish. Spices? What spices?

Bottle from Ledger’s. Pours hazy dark gold with a very fine, very tall, white head. Aromas of kandi and yeast. Perhaps a little hop. Medium body with fine carbonation. Starts a little yeasty and malty, then a hit of kandi. And it does that each taste. Distinct timing separations. Eventually it blends into a nice mellow flavor that has a maple hint. Quite interesting ale.

750ml Bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki) - Shared with FatPhil. Golden/amber in colour. Malty aroma with honey. Malty taste with honey and a hint of lemon. Well made, but nothing remarkable.

Super hazy orange tinted body with a great sized tan head. Perfect looking for the style. Strong aroma of wheat, yeast, curacao, coriander seed and some light alcohol scents. Heavy-bodied; Strong malty taste with a big coriander seed freshness and also heavy on the yeast and bitter alcohol. Aftertaste shows a lot of character-still quite a bit too strong and not enough overall sweetness but not bad at all, by any means. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased at Whole Foods in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia on 12-September-2005.
