Launched in Denmark in 1895, Tuborg Gold was originally brewed for export but proved to be a huge success in Denmark. Tuborg Gold is a real lady; it has elegance, dignity and a discreet appearance hiding a delightful level of sweetness. Its Danish nickname “The Golden Lady” stems from the commercials of the late 1950s where the model and actress Anette Strøyberg was the face associated with the beer. Since then, Gold Tuborg has always been accompanied by beautiful women.

Tuborg Gold is brewed on pure lager malt and has an inviting aroma of fruit and grain with notes of fennel. It's an elegant beer with an excellent balance between a dry richness, a certain liveliness and a subtle hop character.

Bottle. Clear golden liquid with medium white head. Aroma of bread, grain, corn, floral hops and light earth. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of grain, sweet fatty malt and corn. Light to medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Standard pale lager.

My 650ml bottle was brewed in Nepal at the Gorkha brewery and sold in Kathmandu. Pours a clear dark gold with some thin, white head. Nose has, well, not much, some mild honey notes, some lemon, faint hints of grain, some dried grass, light lemon. Flavor has a bit more toasted corn, some mild grain, a little rusty penny, some lemon, mild soap, mild yeast. Watery finish. What did you expect?

Tasted @ Copenhague Airport. Pale golden color with a minimal and quickly diminishing white head. Aroma is herbal with notes of straw. Flavor is very slightly sweet with notes of hay and straw. Watery final for this plane beer.

Pours a golden color, clear, with quite some carbonation and medium white head that quickly diminishes. Basic malty aroma, some grassy notes in there too. Taste is sweet and malty, some grains, with mild bitterness in the end. Crisp, refreshing. Not bad at all.

Classic Danish ’luxe pils’ which became very popular in Belgium in the seventies but has lost much of its followers since then, at least in this country. Typical golden blonde with thinnish, snow white head; pale malts, light, one-dimensional with sharpish but brief, spicy hop bitterness in the finish. Okay but not worth the hype it experienced back in the seventies.

Can from Danish supermarket, 0.33l, 5.6% as \"Guld Tuborg\", avertised on the bottle as a strong pilsner (\"stærk pilsner\"). Pours clear pale yellow with a fizzy white head that persists in a thin layer. Some lacing. Aroma is light with malts and some yeast fruitiness. Literally no bitterness, sweet. Syrupy, soft carbonation, extremely smooth, or more precisely bland. Is this a beer or a fruit syrup? Certainly not a strong pilsner!

Gylden brun klar med lavt hvitt vedvarende skum. Malt og litt metallisk lukt. Søt sitrus og malt, nesten uten bitterhet. Men kommer litt bittertoner i avlutningen.
