A light chestnut, characterful, well balanced malt beer with a subtle blend of choice whole hops and roasted malts. One of our original line up with its own established following.

Cask Transparant, but decent fluffy head, over foxy-amber beer. Bit of caramel, UK hops, dry hop sacks, old hessian. Nutty & caramel flavour, but light & relieved by some good aroma hops added. A bit light for a Best Bitter. Quite some slickness, even sticky, caramel ending. Light bodied, but nice, invitingly tasting bitter.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2004] A hazy brown beer with a light brown head. The aroma is powerful dominated by yeast. The flavor is also powerful with strong notes of yeast, but also caramel and roasted malt, leading to a very bitter end.
