I Can't Believe It's Not Sabro

In the last few years Sabro rapidly became one of the go-to hops to mimic certain tropical fruit aromas. But when we got together with the mad hop lords from Schwarze Rose, we decided to go crazy and turn the whole thing upside down and "recreate" Sabro with the things it usually smells like. What?! The result is this over the top Pina Colada-style New England Double IPA, brewed with real pineapple and coconut. We can't believe it's not Sabro either!

Can from BiervanEijk, Frederiksoord. Aroma is zesty fruits with pineapple, tropical, mango, citrus peel. Smooth oats with a touch of lacto. Medium bitter with a light sweetness, body is medium. Good, though I hoped for a lot more coconut.

Can at home. Hazy unclear yellow color at first, after pouring in the second part of the beer it turned ugly murky "pèrdezoad" -ish, white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, hops, fruity hops, ripe fruits, mostly sweetish but with a light bitter hint. Decent body and average carbonation. Okayish.
