Сухий гастрономічний стаут щільного чорного кольору. В ароматі – кава, шоколад, какао та трохи підкопчена паленість. Смак – виражено палений, відчутно гіркий, дещо карамельний. Сухий фініш.

330ml can sold to me by djoeye. Almost black in the glass, scattered lacing, diminishing beige head. Promising malty smell with earthy chocolate. Plain dark malt-driven taste, impacts of chocolate, grain, and a note of liquorice. Ends with a nicely roasted, mid-sweet malty twist. Medium bodied. Pleasing. (Tromsø, 10.08.2025).

330ml can. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, dense, frothy to creamy, very slowly osteoporosing, moderately lacing, dark beige to tan head. Roasty, slightly chocolately, minimally bready, dark malty and minimally grassy, hoppy aroma, notes of pumpernickel and coffee, some dark chocolate, nutty overtones. Taste is sweet-ish and mildly bitter, roasty dark malty, minimally caramel malty, hints of coffee, mocha, some pumpernickel, a touch of treacle, caramel, cocoa; minimally fruity and metallic overtones with a touch of plum. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously minimally dry palate, fine, soft, creamy carbonation. Very nice composition, well crafted, quite meaty - really good.

Die inzwischen recht bekannte Underwood-Brauerei bringt auch ein Irish Stout heraus. Dieses ist tiefschwarz und hat eine leichte, dichte Schaumkrone, die aber schnell verschwindet. Geschmacklich gibt es nicht viel auszusetzen: Tolle Aromen nach dunkler Schokolade und dazu Kaffee und Kakao -alles was man braucht und keine komischen Zusatznoten. Es könnte ruhig etwas cremiger sein, dann käme man diem irischen Original näher. Aber es ist auf jeden Fall sehr süffig und hat mir sehr gut gefallen.
