Trösten, translating to “comforting,” is a dark lager with rich notes of chestnut and toast. Carafa and smoked malts create rich flavors lingering on a surprisingly light, smooth finish. Brewed for the cold winter nights in Vermont, but can be enjoyed on any occasion.

Can at the DC post-Thanksgiving 2021 gathering. Poured a very dark color with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma as very light smoke, a little chewy meat. Flavor was pleasant roasted malt, with a touch of smoke.

Mostly roast and only a little of that burn note. There is smoke but like a puff rather than a drag as we'd say in Edmonton. Some caramel and decent malt backbone. Dark brown pour with decent head. Tap at Delerium Leesburg.

12 oz can from jcos, 1/16/20. Dark brown color with a tan head and average lace. Nice mix of meaty and peaty smoke, some nuttiness, a little roasted coffee, earth, and some light dough. Clean, balanced, tasty.

$2.00 bottle. Beer run. Pours black, small tan head. Aroma is brown leaf, caramel, autumn. Flavor is brown leaf, charred coffee, caramel, earth, burnt wood, black tea (almost like sucking on a tea bag). Wasn't expecting as much flavor as it has.
