Bottle at home. Pours deep brown, nose is roasted, raisins, treacle, herbal, taste is similar, quite sweet, a hint of varnish.

Brittle wax that falls into the beer, big gusher. Amateuristic crap. Smell is very herbal. Body is very thin, high on the carbonation but not disturbing. Flavour is more herbal, nothing stout remains, still quite unbalanced. Alcoholic, drinkable, OK.
Bottled 01-2017, and I bought it in march that year. So how could it have been cellar aged for a year after bottling but before release? Downrating for being a scam, I do not like being lied to.

Strong stout from Friesland infused with Beerenburg, a Jägermeister-like liqueur made by Boomsma in Friesland, Netherlands; thanks Craftmember for sharing. Mousy, pale yellowish beige, slowly opening, medium thick head over a very dark bronze beer, close to black but translucent under bright light. Aroma of fig compote, camphor, liquorish, walnut oil, stewed plum, caramel, hazelnut liqueur, freshly baked bread, cookies, cloves. Sweet onset with light sourish edge, candied cherry and dried plum, some fig, medium carbonation, slick oily body; hazelnutty, peanutty and caramelly maltiness with bitterish toasty edge enhanced by strong 'jenever'-like alcohol as well as ethereal, clove- and cinnamon-like spiciness, spice liqueur obvious enough yet not as wry and perfumey as I was fearing, with something camphor-like to it; warm, spicy and sweet finish. A bit too heavy on the Beerenburger for me, as I was expecting, but still maintaining high drinkability and clearly constructed on a very decent, technically well-made basis.

Smell and taste malts, some roast, I guess there's beerenburg in there as there is something herbal / spices in there and some bitterness. Average body and carbonation. Original review text: Verschrikkelijke keiharde rode waxlaag die dramatisch te verwijderen is. Nadat de ellende er eindelijk af is schenkt het donker bruin/zwart met kaki kraag. Aroma is zoet, rozijn, maar dan vooral kalmoes en de typische Boomsma Beerenburg. Smaken zijn ook zoet, totaal geen imerial stout of stout, meer dubbel/strong ale, maar dan nog een keer met een behoorlijke hoeveelheid Kalmoes van de Boomsma Beerenburg, waar ik mede door deze karakteristieke smaken nooit geen echte liefhebber van ben geweest. Flesje gedeeld door Tomhendriksen en gedronken met Benzai. Donkerbruin bier met weinig schuim. Direct na het inschenken een aroma van wijn, later wordt het aroma kruidiger. De smaak is een mix van kruiden, drop en donker fruit. De nasmaak is kruidig en pittig zoals het van berenburg hoort.

Many thanks to ShivanDragon for this bottle. Deep smooth and malty beginning. Intense with sweetish hints, deep caramel, juniper, red berries. Fruity with alcoholic hints, well balanced and deep. Fantastic deep malty fruity ending, alcohol, herbs, great!
