Dusk settles beyond the cave while sparks of first fire crackle into the breeze. Ah, the early North American man, with distant dreams of the day their kind would reach its zenith some 14,300 years later with a Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial S’Mores Stout. With blueberries. For science.

Unearth our latest collaboration with the axe-wielding archeologists from Portland’s Great Notion Brewing!

Tons of blueberry notes still, vanilla and bourbon notes too. Creamy maple and chocolate vibes linger on the finish.

Opaque colour, tiny head. Strong blueberries and bourbon in the nose. Medium-bodied to full-bodied. Sweet, blueberries, marshmallow flavours with some wood and bourbon. A bit restless.

Black colour, minor head. Aroma is bananas, plum, chocolate and some nuts. Flavour is candy, really sweet overripe banana with alcohol and some plum too. A bit too sweet for me.

Bottle (2023, 15%) shared by ClarkVV--thanks, Clark! Opaque inky black with nice viscosity, no head or lacing. Aroma is strong blueberry, bourbon. Taste is dominant very sweet blueberry, milder marshmallow and cacao. Smooth texture--a bit syrupy--soft carbonation, no hint of alcohol. Not bad but could have sat a bit longer. Too sweet.

500 ml bottle shared by ClarkVV. Dude, thanks! Aroma enormous blueberry. I guess there really is a line on how soon you want to open these. Entirely to much blueberry. Put the song I sauté pan and use it as a reduction. It is really syrup like.

Bottled 2023, drunk 8/31/24. Clear, deep mahogany. Little/no head. Blueberry is fruity and very floral. Syrupy Brown sugar and caramel. Yeah, wow I think the blueberry outdoes everything. Not boozey. Decent amount of mellow bourbon. Fruity, piquant, a bit hotter bourbon but not actually hot. At just a year, it's got more of a syrupier body but it's not too sweet (though still very sweet). Maybe does need another year...alcohol emerges on the nose too, with warming. Bourbon is excellent but yeah, just too young still. Needs one more year.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out lots of blueberry granola, a touch of bourbon, some marshmallows, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is rich and cohesive, with lots of blueberries, cocoa, and bourbon in wonderful cohesion. Complex and expertly constructed. Excellent.

Dark brown, no head. On the aroma, lots of alcohol up front, chocolate blueberry. On the palate, it's the same but wow more depth. Lots more depth. Big blueberry, light marshmallow, tons of chocolate, big bourbon. I dig the acidity, as it balances the intense richness, but then the bourbon blasts through.
