A refreshingly modern German-style pilsner.

Taste: A crisp and clean malt base leads into zesty citrus and hints of sweet honeydew melon followed again by a light biscuity maltiness somewhat reminiscent of pancakes and grandmother’s house in summer. Gentle but assertive hop bitterness finishes off, whilst being washed down by an elegant level of carbonation.

From Amstein, St-Légier, opening it on friday, after a lovely walk at Evian. In the kitchen due to the fresh weather, not impressed at the beginnig but after some sips, becoming an averagr pils, really smooth and malty, a bit herbal, a bit sweet, bitter, 29.05.22

Taster at KEG. Clear, deep golden pour with white head. Nose is light caramel, noble hops, hay, bready malts. Taste is bittersweet notes of hay, bread, grassy noble hops and that light caramel again, that makes me think it was a bit oxidized. Light bodied with soft to average carbonation.

Bottled (from K-Supermarket Ivalo). Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is grains, some herbs, mild grass and earth. Flavour is pretty much the same elements as the aroma. Somewhat mouthdrying.

Bottle from Goblet ZG. Hazy golden body, medium seized white head, medium retention. Sweet white grape in the aroma, slightly stale, wheaty malty touch, with some light acetaldehyde coming late for the party. Sweetish, well carbonated taste, mint and white grape, flowery notes - quite interesting profile from the hops used really, over some light malty touches. No bitterness in evidence, on the sweeter side. Really not a German pils in all honesty, just some... well hopped sweetish lageroid with wheat, showing some modern tendencies. Not the greatest aroma (which will pull the score down), but genuinely tasty really.

Wahrscheinlich das bisher beste Pils. Rund, samtig-weich, würzig, Hopfen aromatisch, aber nicht eindimensional bitter.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours transparent gold, with medium grain white foam. Aroma is delicate of cereal, floral and honey. Body is average, like carbonation. Taste is medium bitter, but with a very floral, sweeter final.

330ml.bottle at the Farmers Bar, Puchong, Malaysia. Poured a hazy golden straw colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, tropical citrus fruits, melon. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a fresh, crisp, mineral, juicy fruit, light floral dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not your average Pilsner and very sessionable.
