A refreshingly modern German-style pilsner.

Taste: A crisp and clean malt base leads into zesty citrus and hints of sweet honeydew melon followed again by a light biscuity maltiness somewhat reminiscent of pancakes and grandmother’s house in summer. Gentle but assertive hop bitterness finishes off, whilst being washed down by an elegant level of carbonation.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from All Good Beer. Pours clear yellow with a foamy, white head. Lightly sweet with simple pale bread character, mild citrus fruit accents, a little white grape, straw, biscuits. Light bodied with average carbonation. Balanced finish, somewhat dry, more biscuits, lemony hops, hay. Easy-drinking lager.

330ml bottle, thanks to djoeye for sharing. Low white head leaving spotty lacing on the glass, misty golden body. Herbal hops on the, nose, floral. Rather tasty with noble hops, pale malts, and a touch of lemon. Rounded, mild fruity bitterness to the finish. Decent session qualities. (Rating session with Finn and djoeye, PivotekaH7, Tromsø 27.01.2021).

Bottle at Brewery Tap, Chester. Just goes to show you should always check the bottle list even in the most unlikely places. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Has an aroma that is distinctly bananas and yeast. In the mouth the first things which grabs the attention is the fizzy texture. This is followed by flavours of lime and lemon, mixed with underlying banana. Mainly lemon in the finish – but not bitter. Bit of a strange one this, claims to be a pilsner, but has qualities of both a wheat beer (banana) and an IPA (citrus). Indeed wheat is listed as an ingredient. Anyway, it’s rather drinkable.

Draught @ Pohjala Tap Room, Tallinn. Smooth, slightly grainy malty and grassy with hints of hay and earthiness. Okay, quite clean and easy going.
