Bottle, 66cl. Thanks to Chris Lameijer from Birra-Italia.nl. Color: Black, thin very light brown head. Aroma: Cocoa, mocha, coffee, roasted malt. No cherry. Taste: Cocoa, roasted malt, sourish / slightly tart red wine notes, mocha. Subtle fruity notes of dark cherries, coming and going, and red wine. Boozy notes. Bit sticky. Bittery palate and some more cocoa and red wine hints at finish. Medium body, below average carbonation. Lacking some body, but ok overall. Note: After standing some time, this beer gets less balanced in my opinion. The cocoa dominates, some cherry notes and red wine notes but less interaction in between these flavours. Unfortunately. Still ok, but minus points for the whole experience.

Bottle. 66cl 2017 edition. A black one, topped by a finger-thick dark beige head leaving some lacing. The aroma has quite a lot of cocoa or dark chocolate, with roasted malt, coffee, a touch of alcohol, some vinous red wine notes and a vague touch of vegetables. It's full-bodied, lightly warming and quite smooth on the palate, with a very soft carbonation. Astringent tannins, red wine notes and oak. Dark chocolate, a vague cherry touch, roasted malts and some coffee. Lasting finish with cocoa or dark chocolate dominating. Quite lovely this one. 190724
