Obsidian Welsh stout has a very attractive aroma of chocolate and coffee. The palate is lovely and clean with a nice dark, smoky finish. The acidity is very refreshing and carries all of the flavours through to an attractive, bitter finish.

Handpull cask at the Brewery Tap, Wrexham. Mid-brown, fairly translucent, a thin khaki head. Chocolatey aroma, a little bit of coffee, maybe even some light floral notes. The taste is sweet, more chocolate and touches of stone fruit, light bitterness on the finish. Body is thin but not too much so, thin carbonation. Decent.

Dark brown, near black, with a creamy tan head and chocolate malt and a touch of coffee on the nose. Smooth and creamy, mellow roasted malt, milk chocolate, a touch of coffee, finishes dry and slightly bitter.
