Tap at the Colmore, Birmingham. Pours black with small beige head. Notes of chocolate, roast, light coffee, slightly medicinal finish. Medium bodied, powdery, fine prickly carbonation, served slightly too cold for a stout. Decent though.

Half-pint, cask, shared with Finn at Sheffied Tap. Spotty lacing from a fawn-coloured head. Deep black body. Inviting roasted malty nose with cocoa scent. Tasty with cocoa-chocolate, nuts, and a backdrop of coffee beans. Roasted ending notes, mid-sweet, and rather short. Likeable. (Sheffield, 25.03.2024).

Dark brown, near black, with a slight tinge of red and a creamy tan head. Soft coffee and chocolate on the nose, just a touch of licorice in the taste, quite thin, only semi-creamy with roasted malt and some chocolate going on

Can from Craft Brewtique, Urmston. Very dark with a light-brown head. Easy enough drinking, although its relatively lower strength means it's not the most stated of stouts, allowing some floral notes through. Nevertheless it's pretty decent with a few roasted malts to enjoy here.

Hand-pulled half-pint at The Wrekin Inn, Wellington Shropshire on 16th April 2022. Black bodied, ruby around the edges in the sunlight, tanned top. Stouty and malty with a coffee front to both the nose and taste, pretty dry finish.

14/3/2022. Can from The Town Mouse, Newcastle. Pours black with a small creamy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, ash, cocoa, light coffee and dried fruits. Moderate sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Light body, oily, average carbonation. Dry light roasty finish. Quite drinkable modest abv stout.

Can from the Black Toad. Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Beige, creamy head. Nose - creamy chocolate, caramel and coffee grounds. Taste - milky chocolate and ought coffee roast. Like a weak milky coffee. Palate - quite thin in texture but still sweet and roasty. Quite conflicting things going on. Overall - it's complex in some ways but in other ways its quite thin. Quite enjoyable overall.
