Brewed for JD Wetherspoon.
Robyn Guille has travelled to Batemans Brewery (Lincolnshire) to brew this tropical session stout for us. The aromas of tropical and citrus fruit lead to a smooth roasted malt flavour, with notes of chocolate and toffee, then a full-bodied, creamy and refreshing finish.
Hops: Amarillo, El Dorado

Hand-pulled pint in my local Wetherspoons on 13th October 2023. Off-white crown on a deep brown body, malty, nutty and almost 'chewy', some mild citrus action in there too. Interesting brew with chocolatey maltiness winning the taste stakes eventually.

Deep, dark brown, near black, with a frothy off-white head and soft roasted malt on the nose with maybe just a hint of dark fruit. Dry and bitter with coffee and liquorice coming through the roasted malt flavour, perhaps just a little light bodied

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A glossy black pour with a tight tan coloured head; aroma of well roasted grains; bitter burnt grain taste with some burnt sugar in the background; then a dry earthy finish. An excellent stout.
