Barrel-aged tropical fruit stout. Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels and finished with Tahitian vanilla, pineapple, coconut, and mango.
Earth's most fertile lands were molded by the fires of volcanoes.
This beer is about balance and evolution. We drew inspiration from Hawaiian kīpukas -- "islands" of lush, green areas that have been entirely surrounded by lava flows. These ecological wonders become natural laboratories, where the evolution of plant and animal species can dramatically speed up as the landscape responds to volcanic activity. A kīpuka offers a steadfastness, where the culture of an area is preserved no matter the external threat, now bolstered by a unique opportunity to grow and evolve for the benefit of the "island's" continued endurance. Post-barrel, this beer was pushed through hundreds of pounds of raw and toasted coconut for a buoyant viscosity and rich, silky roundness. Fresh pineapple pieces layer in a glimmer of tropical acidity, just enough to refresh the palate and bring the glowing rivulets of vibrant summer mango to life. Please allow this liquid to approach ambient temperature -- it will open up like a sunset.

500ml @ Matt's (thx for the bottle, man!) new place. Vintage 2022. Appearance: dark brown, pours like oil, no head. Aroma: very fruity, sweet, and bold. Taste: along the same lines, very sweet and fruity. Overall: very good for what it is.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Near black with very minimal beige head. Lots of pineapple on the aroma, even more on the taste, underlying chocolate, feint coconut and vanilla, mango disappears. An odd combo, but if anyone is to do it, Bottle Logic can.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a tiny head. Nose is full of pineapple and mango upfront, followed by coconut, a hint of vanilla, lactose, and a tiny hint of bourbon. Flavour is absolutely loaded with pineapple upfront, followed by mango, coconut, vanilla and a touch of bourbon barrels. Extremely tropical, catapulted by the extreme pineapple character. Finishes with extreme tropical pineapple juice. Works for me, but it's kind of hilarious how over-the-top pineapple-y this is. Almost no breweries could pull this off, but Bottle Logic can.

Dark brown. No head. Ok that pineapple aroma is hilarious. Some coconut and vanilla. On the palate, it's goes pineapple, vanilla, and a rich, sticky dark malt base. I don't get mango here anywhere, but the pineapple, vanilla and coconut all blend well with the somewhat chocolatey, definitely syrupy, rich Bottle Logic base. You'd think pineapple would fuck the beer up, but it really doesn't.

OC Local, 1st ever Beer Festival; Sunday 16th July 2023. 100ml pours. Second best beer at the festival, had this three times, poured from bottles (2022 version). Dark and foreboding look to it, boozy feel to it. Sweet, malty and fruity with tropical leanings, far to easy to drink considering it's ABV, lovely!

Medium body, oily, sweet and boozy. Coconut, milky latte, some canned pineapple juice. Can't find much barrel which is a shame, but seems to work decently well. Finishes dry, really smooth, very nice.

500 ml. Aroma has notes of coconut, chocolate, oak, bourbon, coffee, pineapple. Pours like motor oil with an immediately collapsing tan head. Taste is moderately sweet and slightly tart with flavors of coconut, pineapple, chocolate, coffee. Crazy and delicious.
