A rich dark brown ale which is malty, nutty, a little spicy with hints of chocolate and full bodied.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours dark ruby with a sizable foamy off-white head and excellent lacing. There’s malts and toffee in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet with an abundance of malts, plus caramel, treacle and dried fruit with hints of nuts and chocolate. Finish is slightly fruity. This is decent without being outstanding.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Plough, Shifnal on 23rd April 2023. Dark brown body with a full tanned coloured head. Chocolate front with a slight nutty side line, not as rich as I expected, but decent enough.
