Double barrel aged Barley Wine aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrel and then further aged in Woodford Double Oak Bourbon barrel.
A collab with Chresten and Thor Jepsen at Øllebrødre
The idea behind DOUBLE BARREL CONSTELLAR was to brew a spin off of our beloved STELLAR, and create a semi gap between Barley Wine and Stout, there you will get the flavors of dried fruit and caramel from the Barley Wine and the chocolate and slightly soft roastiness. Still with the same idea as STELLAR with a beer of the highest quality without any shortcuts, and showcase what a Barley Wine made with only barley can offer. It’s really is just malt, no sugar, lactose etc. added.
After a long mash we split the wort in two and boiled one half for several hours to maximize the Maillard reaction and creating the thickest caramelized malt syrup you can dream of, which has given the beer a smooth and creamy mouthfeel with deep notes of dried fruit, toffee, caramel and hint of chocolate. We first aged this Barley Wine in a small format Woodford Reserve bourbon barrel, but we wanted to do something special for MBCC 23, so we aged it further in a small format Woodford Double Oak barrel.
Aged time: 18 months in barrels
5 kegs in total - no bottles, sorry.

Tap. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is thicc maltose, raisins, chocolate, caramel, nice barrel character. Taste is the same, good caramel&vanilla barrel and a boozy warming finish. Really good Barleywine, albeit really sweet.
