Bourbon Barrel-Aged Walnut Brownie-Inspired Imperial Stout
We've baked up a brilliant new beverage with the buoyant boatmen of Georgia's Pontoon Brewing in #MindOverBatter, our Bourbon Barrel-Aged Walnut Brownie-inspired Imperial Stout! Aromas of sweet, dark cacao, bourbon-soaked oak, and an increasing walnut richness as the liquid comes to ambient temperature. On the palate there's a bitter Baker's chocolate backbone, reminiscent of that perfect crispy corner piece of brownie with a silky finish of walnutty richness.

Draught @ Kultainen Apina Aroma is a bit odd and sweet with soy sauce and molasses. Feels like East European porters. Flavour has strong bourbon tones chocolate, some alcohol. Rather sweet, drinkability suffers. A bit unbalanced Bourbon overdose this is.

On tap at The Wandering Tortoise, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is decadent, with deep, rich brownie batter, medium roasted malt, and some bourbony oak on top. Flavour is ridiculously rich and indulgent, with intense dark chocolate brownie batter, dark sugars, subdued bourbon, and a little roast. Sweet but not cloying; very dessert-like. Tasty but perhaps lacks some of the nuance of their elite creations.

Dark brown, no head, a little bit boozy on the nose, decent amount of chocolate. Not picking out much walnut, but I didn'�t in Where'�s Walno either.

500 ml. bottle. Vintage 2023. Aroma has a soft mellow spicy bourbon, with rich chocolate and a light nutty hint. The flavor is reminiscent of a brownie soaked in bourbon. The bourbon gives enough alcohol, warmth with spice to balance, the sweet, brownie batter nuances. And the walnut is also present. Pretty outstanding imperial Stout.

Bottle pour shared by AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! An opaque black with nice viscosity, no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt, walnut, chocolate and bourbon, all with nice balance. Taste is rich sweet roasted malt, bourbon, oak, walnut, chocolate. Creamy smooth, smooth, soft carbonation and finish as taste. No sign of alcohol! Exceptionally well balanced. Really smooth. Getting everything they want in amazing balance.
