Draught@CBC2016. Deep brown colour, mediumsized foamy off-white head. Aroma is caramel, sweet malts, some roasted tones along with nutty and mild alcohol tones. Flavour is following the same pattern as the aroma does, in a nice and mellow balance.

Keg at CW taproom London. It pours deep / dark brown with a medium foamy tan head. The aroma is earthy, wood, earthy, leather, dried leaves, toasted malt, dried fruits, cacao nibs and a hint of vanilla. The taste is drying, toothy, woody, earth, leather, cacao nibs, tannin, boozy kick, warming, brown bread, malt and dried fruits with a dying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent hit of malty action. Fun stuff.

Keg at 73 Enid Street, 03/05/19. Rich mahogany brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is fruit cake, toffee, light spice, dusty, dark malts. Taste comprises cocoa powder, dark malts, fruit slice, raisins, light spice, kiss of booze, dates, brown sugar. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a rising kiss of alcohol. Ok offering but lacks depth in flavour for the ABV.

On the afternoon of 26th March 2019 my wife and I tried four flights (of four beers) in the centre section of the Bagby Beer Company in Oceanside, two flights of their own beers and two flights of guests. This is one of those 16 beers. Really enjoyed this strong brew, deep ruby body, off-white topping. Malty and fairly sweet with caramel notes to the fore in both the aroma and taste.
