This long-eared owl is our core range Imperial/double stout. This stout is standard French oak aged. This is a rich and massive full bodied monster with notes of chocolate, ground coffee, anise and vanilla. It even has some smoky and peaty flavours to it and obviously very hoppy as we love it. Get warmed up by this uber complexed- Owl in a bottle. The beer is unfiltered and unpasteurized, and could definitely be stored away even longer to mature some more.

(24/05/2015) 330 ml. bottle split by 3 @ “Brazilian Tasting”. Thank you tderoeck! Dark brown / black, light reddish hue, basically no head. Nose is sweet oxidation & bit port presence, syrup, malty, lower carbonation, chocolate milk & pleasant mild peat level. Taste is light plastic peat, oxidation & bit red port quality, gummy candy, sweet, peated candy, med. peat not to heavy like many peated bears, creamy milk chocolate quality, brown sugar, basically no carbonation which makes it seem a bit watery. Not perfect, should have been prob. thicker with some carbonation + with little to no oxidation but a pleasant beer all the same. //////////// 01/09/2015 Sampled draft @ Van Moll Fest 2015. Very dark brown, big mocha head. Nose is touch metallic, bit cold, mocha, sweet cacao puffs, touch almost artificial vanilla,… Taste is big creamy mocha, big almost artificial tasting chocolate, lots of cacao puffs, cacao, quite artificial in taste, syrup, sweet sugar, some artificial syrup, touch vanilla,… A bit cheap candy-like in a good way. Bit chocolate, touch syrup body.

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Tderoeck and 77ships.

Draught (Uiltje Bar, Haarlem) - Jet black in colour. Liquorice, roasted malt and some slightly smoky notes in the aroma. Liquorice, cocoa, vanilla and coffee can all be detected in the smooth and dangerously drinkable taste.

Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is airy and dry with modest fine carbonation. Rich and semi dry dark malts. Little earthy coffee and a trace of dark chocolate. Some mild alcohol warmth. Airy dry finish. Decent enough but needs to breath a bit to get the best from it.
