Tap at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 6th beer in the sun, enjoying this session. 19th April 2023. Pours a clear dark golden hue. Aroma is spicy, yeast and fruit. Taste is fruity, lots of spice, bitter, light funk and refreshing. Not convinced at first, but it grew on me.

0.375 l bottle from 'Beerdome', best before December 2027. A bit hazy, deep reddish amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently yeasty, slightly spicy and moderately fruity-floral aroma of caramel, clove, pepper, raisins, orange peel and hints of banana. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, rather yeasty, gently fruity-floral, slightly spicy taste of caramel, honey, raisins, orange blossom, pepper, clove and hints of ginger, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly peppery, moderately dry finish. Medium to full body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite unique, has some lovely yeasty flavours but benefits from a solid malty backbone as well. I'm usually not too fond of pepper in my beer but in this case, it's fortunately not too strong and adds a bit of aroma as well. Something different for such an anniversary for sure.

Bottle. Color: Clear amber, off-white head. Aroma: Herbal, malry, yeasty hints. Taste: Herbal, spicy, yeasty, malty, subtle caramel. Lightly boozy. Moderate sweet and bitter with a medium bitter, dry and spicy / peppery finish. Over medium body, just below average carbonation. I like the fact that Bronckhorster, even after all their nice BA serie beers, has the guts to brew a Saison as their 1000th brew. Well done Steve and Graham! Very enjoyable beer.
