Tokyo* Death is colossal. 15.0% ABV, seven different malts and an ageing potential well into the next decade; this beer is full-bodied, intensely roasty and lifted even further by jasmine and cranberry leaving a tartly bitter, floral aftertaste to mingle with the deep darkness.

Near opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly dark tan head. Smooth start to the palate, a little viscous. Late emerging fine minerally carbonation. Smooth dark malts, a fairly rich chocolate vibe, some dark malt cream. Tangy ripe fruits. A little floral spice and ripe fruits, touch of very ripe plum. Smooth finish brings alcohol warmth and spice.Rich and smooth and drinks reasonably well for its hefty abv. I was expecting a little more depth of flavour

Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass deep black, almost no head. Intense malty stouty aroma. Starts fine malty-roasty-stouty. Not too much alcohol. More and more warming-malty-alcoholic. Earthy notes, some bitter coffee, some bitter chocolate. Finish well balance, warming-malty, oily. Really nice!

14/5/2024. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours black with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is cocoa, chocolate, black treacle, coffee, smoke, meaty notes. Medium sweetness, bitterness and body. Oily smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice.

Sample thanks to Danlo. Cheers mate! Pours dark, no real head to speak of. Boozy bourbon nose, deep malt. Flavour profile is boozy from the off. Strong, robust with prominent bourbon, molasses, dark malt, oily palate with distant chocolate shades on the finish. Lovely stuff.

330ml bottle from Brewdog. Black colour, thin beige foam head and aroma of roast malt, molasses, dark chocolate & coffee. Taste is sweetish, malty, roasty, molasses, dark fruit, chocolate, ground coffee, wood, with nutty earthy bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, full bodied, soft carbonation, dry roasty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Velvety black, little bit of brown head. Smells roasty, chocolate, jasmine. Nice creamy mouthfeel, good thickness, bit high carb for the body. Flavourwise a bit on the sweet side, with some light roast bitterness in the end. Jasmine is a bit unneccesary.

Vollmundig malziger Antrunk, dem man die 15% nicht anmerkt, Cremig malzig, fast leicht, dann aber doch voluminös malzig-schokoladig werdend, milde aber konstante und unterstützende Bitterkeit, Vanille, voluminös. Auch im Verlauf bleibt der Alkoholgehalt gut verborgen, mild röstig, langer intensiver Nachgeschmack. Lecker! 9/12/14/14/12/14
