Tokyo* Death is colossal. 15.0% ABV, seven different malts and an ageing potential well into the next decade; this beer is full-bodied, intensely roasty and lifted even further by jasmine and cranberry leaving a tartly bitter, floral aftertaste to mingle with the deep darkness.

Bottle from BrewDog online store. Very nice. Full bodied, leaning to sweetish bits. Resins, quite visible alcohol. But okay, I liked original Tokyo more though

Keg at Brewdog Shepherd's Bush, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, dark fruit on the nose. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate, dark fruit, some caramel. Decent effort.

Keg at BrewDog Birmingham. Dark, dark brown, black really. Yeast extract, tar, rubber, molasses and Japanese salt plum in the aroma. Impressive in a bit faint for an impy. The taste is out of this world: sweet, fruity, salty, savoury, confused. It's an absolute cracker of a beer, in a way. In another way, it's not quite sure what it is, and the blend is jarring rather than smooth. Verdict. Yummy. Not anywhere near as good as the component beers, but I can live with that. In fact there is a certain wisdom in revelling in the confusion...
