Dark Horizon 8 Whisky Edition is a full-bodied Imperial Coffee Stout aged in Higland Whisky barrels. Each release in the Dark Horizon series is unique and different compared to previous releases. It takes approximately two years from brewing until a limited number of numbered bottles are launched.

Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2023, Saturday. Almost black beer with a beige lacing. Aroma and Taste of bourbon, whiskey, strong malt, coffee, wood.

0,33 litre Bottle, from Vinmonopolet Hamar, at home. Black with little head. Roasted malts, coffee, Chocolate, oak, whiskey, leather, barrel, tobaco. Well balanced.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a black body under a minimalistic tan head. Not much carbonation going on. The aroma has dark chocolate, booze, roasted malts, lots of salty licorice, some dark dried fruit, tobacco and brown sugar. Wood and vanilla too. It's full-bodied, warming and smoothly carbonated, with a gentle bitterness dealing with the sweetness from the malts. Dark chocolate, salty licorice and quite a lot of whisky flavors, with dark dried fruit, coffee, brown sugar, wood and vanilla hints. Lasting sweet, chocolatey and boozy finish. A very nice one indeed, still I was convinced I'd prefer the Sherry edition, and I was right. 231014

Svart med lys brunt skum. Lukter toffee, mørk sjokolade, lakris, whisky, vanilje og trevirke. Fyldig. Smaker toffee, vanilje, salt lakris, kaffe og lær. Whiskyen sitter lenge i avslutningen.
