Baltic Sabbath

330ml bottle [6.9% abv]. Almost black colour with average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, chocolately, slightly spicy, malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, cocoa, a touch of celery, bready undertones with a touch of rye bread, pumpernickel. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, slightly chocolately, notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, hints of coffee, cocoa, a touch of celery, dark caramel, whiffs of treacle, subtle sweetness, a bready touch of pumpernickel as well. Slightly creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously slightly dry palate, fine, soft carbonation. Nice spicy aspects, well balanced - pretty good, especially considering it belongs to the sub double digit abv Baltic Porter league.

Dunkelmalziger Beginn, trocken, etwas kräutrig. Schokolade, zunehmende Intensität, angenehm röstig, mittellanger Abgang. Gelungen. 10/9/10/9/8/10

33cl bottle. A clear dark reddish brown beer with a beige. Aroma dark roasted malt, caramel, raisins. Taste of dark roasted malt, raisins, caramel, coffee.

Bottle, ty fatphil. Pours dark brown-black with beige head. Aroma and flavor are sweet grainy, malty, wet paper, mash, chocolate. Feels watery despite the abv. Overall: drinkable.

33cl Bottle from BeerCascais. Dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma of coffee and cream, caramel, yeast, baking powder. Flavour is coffee and cream, dry, caramel, yeast, nutty bitter finish. Light bodied, over-carbonated, watery. Not great.

AROMA: medium malt aroma with nutty notes, slight carbonic acid, biscuity and vinous notes (peppery alcohol). faint dried plums. APPEARANCE: very dark Brown with ruby body against light. huge tanned head with good retention. TASTE: medium malt flavor with molasses notes followed by a roasted presence (coffee). medium bitterness with a dry and roasted finish. PALATE: medium-body with high carbonation. alcool warmth. OVERALL: an unidimensional baltic porter with excessive carbonation.

Bottle. Dark brown body with a huge beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of nuts, coffee, toffee, vanilla and cocoa powder. Flavour of roasted malt, salted caramel and rust. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Very fizzy. A bit sharp, bit pretty good overall.
