Grundlage des eigenständigen Auftritts und auch Namensgeber dieses Bieres ist kostbarer Hopfen der Sorte Saphir, der in einem sorgfältig auf die Zutaten abgestimmten Brauverfahren dem Premium-Pils von Zwettler die kraftvolle Struktur verleiht. Ein knackig-trockenes Bier mit hochkomplexer Aromatik.

Klare, goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Hopfig floraler, malziger, leicht getreidiger Geruch. Geschmacklich floraler Hopfen, leicht fruchtig, malzig, leicht getreidig. Leicht süß mit mittlerer Bitterkeit, leichter Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Das Pils von Zwettler gibt es auch schon länger und es hat eine eingeschworene Fan-Gemeinde.
Es ist ein schön hopfig-herbes Pils, das gut gekühlt sehr schön zu trinken ist. Es hat keine fehlaromen, ist aber auch keine Besonderheit. Guter Durchschnitt.

Thanks to quack-duck for that bottle. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Starts mild, malty-spicy, mild-dry background. Finish with some grasy notes, a bit metallically. Okay.

(bottle, 33cl, thanks to Quack-Duck!) Clear, golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Mildly citrus-fruity and delicately herbal hoppy aroma with bready malty notes. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Bready malt-character now with more herbal hoppy accents; quite dry and hop bitter finish which is a tad too harsh and lackluster. Nevertheless a drinkable Pils. 16.IV.13

Bottle (kindly donated by Quack-Duck!):Pale golden, clear, small and slowly collapsing white head, mild aromatic-phenolic hoppy spots in the bitter and pale-malty nose; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied and soft; an increasing touch of noble hops is detectable in the bitter and malty finish. A quite nice brew from the Austrian-Hungarian Empire…

bottle from Merkur Wien-Hütteldorf. Clear pale yellow, creamy white head, lovely aromatic hop aroma. Light-bodied, elegant malty base with a good amount of aomatic hops, presumably Saphir. Floral and slightly citrusy hop accents. Very nice.
