Tasting at Matt's
Dark brown colour, sparse beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, ashes, hint of anise and chocolate. Good body strength without being too sweet, strong roasted malt character, dark chocolate shavings, a bit salty, touch of liquorice and soy sauce, strong bitterness, The alcohol tickles the palate.
Very good.

330mL bottle, pours black with a large tan head. Nose brings out medium toasted malt, a touch of oak. Flavour has a bit of phenols, but they clear the way for cocoa, light smoke, and medium roasted malt. A bit of burnt rubber on the finish, but it's not too detracting. Good stuff.

Medium brown, with a fairly thick head. Quite toasty, with a light smoke, and a touch of phenol. There's smoke, and a bit of barrel, and a pretty nice chocoatey note. Decent body. This is nice.

Smell of oak. Cola colour, very high brown head. Aroma of oak, cognac, raisins, nuts, roasted malt, alcohol. Intense flavours. Foamy, slick texture, wild carbon. Bitter, rounds up to sweet later. Apart from excess carbon, this is splendid.

Bottled 330ml (Alko web)
Opaque colour, medium-sized beige head and some lace. Oaky, licorice aroma. Medium to full-bodied. Roasted, alcoholic, licoricey, some oak. Long roasted and hoppy aftertaste. A bit rough, probably gains from some ageing.

A black beer, a head is quite big and beige. Aroma has salt liquorice, some dried fruits and raisin, also roastiness of coffee. Taste has roastiness, quite high and herbal bitterness, some wood and barrel. Medium+ bodied, smooth. Good beer, but the barreling isn't moved this to another level.

(Bottle at OlutExpo 2015) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown- Aroma had vanilla, chocolate, liquorice and burnt malts. Palate was full bodied and dryish with medium carbonation. Flavours were chocolate, vanilla, burnt malts, coffee and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, vanilla and bitterness. A decent imperial stout that hadn’t spent too much time in barrels.
