Mahogany brown topped with a beige cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is liquid fruit cake, booze, dates, caramel, sultanas, mellow rummy notes.
Taste comprises toffee, booze, fruit cake, caramel, dates, figs, spice, good barrel tones poking through.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Solid.

Bottle. Near clear deep amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Airy smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation, fine for this brew. Slightly thin malts, all things considered but, a thin malt cream and plenty of unsweet caramel toffee. The triple barrelling, well the brew needs to warm up to appreciate it. On first opening it tasted a bit peaty whiskey. Now the savoury Cognac is obvious as is the slightly watery rum. The port barrel is the most subtle by far, just a touch of berry richness on the back end. Savoury airy finish. Not what I was expecting but, ultimately a rich tasting but light ba barleywine.

ABV: 13.0%. Dark brown amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, dried fruit, barrel, wood, oak, alcohol - sweet alcohol - cognac - rum. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, rum, dried fruit, fudge, caramel, sweet malt, cognac, oak, barrel. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and moderate alcoholic. [20240311]

Sample (thanks omhper!). Copper colour with a small off-white foamy head. Aroma is port, some rum, some caramel and mild cognac with some dried fruits to it. Flavour is sweet port, rum, some caramel, cognac, some dried fruits and some dates and a wee bit of alcohol. Surprisingly easy going for being this high octane.
