On tap at Gulating Pub, Stavanger. As Vahvaportteri. A black beer topped by a lasting, good looking tan head. Some curtains. The aroma has coffee, dark rye bread and soy sauce, with caramel, roasted malt and dark dried fruits. It’s smooth on the palate, full-bodied and rather sweet, with flavors of soy sauce, dark rye bread and coffee, supported by notes of alcohol, dried fruits, roasted malts, caramel and brown sugar. Roasted malt and soy sauce in the lasting finish. A quite delicious one, the soy sauce and rye bread works well together. 171020

Fra flaske merket "Vahvaportteri". Gave fra Rune. Drukket på Lillehøgda. Svart. Veldig lavt skum med litt farge. Lett lakrisaroma. Smaken sjokolade. Blir tørr etter hvert. Mye bunnfall.

Sampled from tap at BPBW 2018 as 'Pyynikin Vahvaportteri'. Black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee and a touch of licorice. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee and some licorice, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

On tap at Pynnikin, pours a deep dark brown with a small light brown head. Aroma brings out notes of vanilla, light cocoa and toasted malt. Flavour is smooth and robust, with vanilla upfront, followed by robust toasted malt and a touch of caramel. Nice vanilla character, with a silky palate with low carbonation. Nicely done.
